Case Study: Employee Engagement


A Fortune 500 company initiated a new internal website for its 100,000+ employees. This new and innovative site is a one-stop, interactive resource for employees, incorporating both work and lifestyle content uniquely customized to each person.

Cardinal was engaged to participate in this initiative in three ways: concept validation, prototype refinement and design, and website communication and rollout plan to the entire system.


Cardinal collaborated with the client and multiple partners to vet the concept prototype through qualitative and quantitative feedback forums and beta/pilot testing. During this iterative process, Cardinal provided direction on website tone, personality, image and tie-in to the mother brand. A comprehensive communication program was developed which included collateral, digital, splash and tutorial videos, contests, leadership engagement, and cascade plans for both pilot and launch.


This initiative is ongoing with the pilot program is successfully launched with positive employee responses and high adoption rates.  Leadership across the system has embraced the program and is cascading it throughout the organization.
